Job Description

LondonEnergy are currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to support our Health and Safety operations based at our head office in Edmonton, North London. 

The Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for advising, documenting and make recommendations for all aspects of Health and Safety within LondonEnergy Ltd. and its subsidiary contractors on all LEL sites.
 

As the Health and Safety Advisor you are also responsible for:

  • Operational site where day to day activities are carried out
  • Risks and hazards associated with waste industry (Traffic management, fire, working at height, confined spaces’, etc).
  • Understanding the requirement for CDM
  • Understanding the requirement for the permitting system
  • Carrying out risk assessment and has the ability to review risk assessment and method statement for others.
  • Plan, review and action remedial work to comply with recommendations from audits or reports, (from HSE, Insurance company, line management, etc.).
  • Monitor contractor health and safety arrangements and advise where improvements are necessary. Assist contractors in fulfilling those improvements.
  • Identify hazards, advise upon and coordinate risk reduction opportunities, exercising expertise as appropriate.
  • Prepare H&S related reports regularly and on ad hoc base as required.
  • Write risk assessments and advise managers/supervisors with them preparing area/task specific risk assessments.
  • Monitor changes of legislation regarding H&S, occupational health, CDM and anything else that could affect the H&S performance of the LEL sites

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of Asbestos
  • Ability to carry out accidents / incidents/ near misses investigations.
  • COSHH and hazardous substances ( Acid, APC, Lime,,,etc)
  • Environmental emissions, controls, pollution, loss of containment, etc
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Full UK drivers license
