Job Description

LondonEnergy are currently looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Specialist for our Head office in North London, Edmonton.

As the Senior Environmental Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining our management systems comprising environment, quality and safety is maintained to the highest order as directed by the Managing Director.

You will ensure that all relevant environmental and management system matters are communicated to all interested parties. It is also the responsibility

of the Senior Environmental Specialist to monitor all LondonEnergy activities for high level of compliance to relevant environmental legal, procedural and contractual requirements.

As the Senior Environmental Specialist you are also responsible for:

  • Advising and assisting Senior Management on all issues regarding compliance to environmental permits and legislation.
  • To manage the preparation of new environmental permits, the modification of existing permits, and permit surrenders
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies to support the Company’s objectives.
  • To prepare new trade effluent discharge consents and modifications to existing consents.
  • To advise and assist LondonEnergy Directors and Management on all issues regarding compliance to the specified standards.
  • Implement and maintain ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and transition / accreditation to ISO 45001 at all group premises.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the documented management system(s) in the requisite format.
  • Maintain registration of the management system(s) with an Accredited Body.
  • Provide a Legislative and Regulatory information update service and ensure that all changes identified are disseminated to appropriate personnel within the group.
  • To undertake environmental & management system (IMS) compliance audits at all LondonEnergy facilities consistent with the audit programme

Previous knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of; ISO 9000:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
  • Qualifications in an environmental related subjects;
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in communicating with Environment Agency, other regulatory bodies and customers;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and/or safety legislations;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentational skills;
  • Waste Management knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of at least 3 of the following processes;-

    Transfer station operation
    Energy from Waste plant
    Waste Transportation
    Compost operations
